Embrace: ‘Navigating Pain in Times of Illness’
Embrace: ‘Navigating Pain in Times of Illness’ provides a supportive therapeutic environment for young patients coping with serious illnesses.
The group sessions are delivered online to accommodate participants. The weekly 90-minute sessions are led by qualified professionals using tailored techniques suited to the developmental stages and needs of the service users. The program fosters resilience, belonging, and skills to navigate challenging circumstances, with initial assessments and regular reviews involving the child and their guardians to monitor progress.
Offered free of charge, the service is divided into age-specific groups (between 5 and 16 years of age) and is open to young patients with life-limiting conditions, serious chronic illnesses, or those in palliative care, whether treated locally or abroad.
